 People should be calling every Democrat in the House and Senate to demand that they stop spinning their wheels and get to work. The Democrats in the U. S. Congress have not finalized the Build Back Better Act. The House is farther along than the Senate. It is expected to vote on its version sometime this week. The House bill is currently expected to include $3.9 billion to reauthorize and modernize the Elder Justice Act.

The funding is broken down into these categories:
  • $1.6 billion for post-acute and long-term care worker recruitment and retention;
  • $1.4 billion for APS functions and grant programs;
  • $172.5 million for long-term care ombudsman program grants and training;
  • $500 million for supporting linkages to legal services and medical-legal partnerships (MLPs); and
  • $250 million to address social isolation and loneliness.
